Welcome to Ellmara Papillons
Welcome to our home of Ellmara, we live in the lovely countryside of Essex, UK, with our beautiful Papillons (Butterfly Dog). Throughout our website you will find lots of information on the breed and how to care for them. Ellmara all began in 1980 when Mark and I chose to buy our first pedigree dog, Up until then we were competing with our horses and had a couple of crossbred dogs as our companions.
So our life begun in the show dog world, we applied to the Kennel Club for an ‘affix’ which is unique to us, ‘ Ellmara’ , this is an anagram of Mark’s and my name Michelle, which the Kennel Club kindly granted to us in 1982.
Over the years we have also owned the lovely Giant Schnauzer and Border Terrier, showing them, playing at agility and anything to have fun with them.
Our Daughter Melody
luckily likes the showing, when she was five she started Junior Handling with the Borders. Watching her in the ring just melted my heart. I think it would be fair to say Melody was the first to notice the Papillon. She thought they looked so pretty. Melody by this time was a lot older and felt the Borders were a bit ‘boyish’.
I was uncertain if we were suitable for The Papillon, so began to research the breed and ask lots of questions. before I even thought about sharing our home with one. Our passion for the Papillon started, Tipsy ‘ Babrees Margarita ‘ 
was our first papillon, a big thank you goes to Jill Terry Tipsy’s breeder who trusted us with one of her special babies.
I have become very involved with Papillons since starting out with Tipsy. I was invited on to The Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club committee and served for two years. I then was introduced to the idea of judging our breed, not to sure this was the direction for me to follow, I agreed to judge one appointment and decide if this is really what I want to do. Needless to say I loved every moment, and have continued, I’m currently on the breed specialist ‘B’ list. Having passed my A3 assessment early, I am working towards judging at championship show level in the future.
We put alot of thought and time into our future Papillon Puppies, using the Kennel Club breed standard as our blue print for the breed and ensuring only healthy sound Papillon’s are bred from, keeping the breed’s superb temperaments and sound construction. Ellmara Tri The Romance
say hello to “Astra” Ellmara Tri The Romance we have chosen to keep her from our last litter. We have great hopes for her in the show ring. Astra will be our new show puppy for 2012, born on the 17/02/12 her sire is our wonderful “Ace” Ellmara Elekrtik Touch and her dame is our lovely “Tipsy” Babrees Margarita, it was a very hard decision to make in this litter as both girls and boy are stunning, but she has stolen my heart.
North Scotland Toy Dog Show
I had the wonderful privilege on the 5th May 2012 to go to Scotland and judge the papillons for The North Scotland Toy Dog Show, I had a lovely entry of 35 beautiful dogs. The venue was very nice and warm and the committee did a super job in looking after all the judges. Not having been to Scotland before I was taken back by the beautiful scenery and lovely old buildings this is certainly a place I will visit again.
Ellmara Elektrik Touch wins blue
We had a lovely day at the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club championship show on Sunday Ellmara Elektrik Touch was in the biggest class of the day and came away winning second place.
South Wales Papillon Club Show 2014

UK TOY CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW ACE WINS AGAIN

Ellmara at Crufts 2012
We had a wonderful day at Crufts, Ace was shortlisted out of a very large entry against some beautiful papillons from all around the world. Melody as usual handled both Harley and Squiggles brilliantly gaining a fourth with our beautiful Squiggles. The show it self was run very well this year and the Kennel Club ensured all dogs were healthy and happy!

Ellmara Elektrik Touch wins at Romford and District
Ace had a lovely day at Romford and District under judge Rev A Fairchild winning his class. This was his first adult class since coming out of puppy and junior fingers crossed he continues to bring home the red rossettes.
Papillon Puppy’s Are Born
Ellmara has exciting news Tipsy had three puppies on the 19/02/2012 two girls and one boy, they are all growing well and Tipsy is being the best mum you could ask for. Ace Ellmara Elecktik Touch keeps an eye on them to, he sure knows he is the daddy and very proud of himself.
